The mental stress refers to the psychological state whenindividuals psychological really aware in and cant get away from thesituation. The mental stress includes the process of "nervous anxiety" and"stress",and also includes the circumstances or events caused by"nervous anxiety" and "stress". During the period of kindergarten, themore negative emotion young children experience,the more nervousand anxiety status will appear,which maybe led to the greaterpossibility of mental stress.Young children with mental stress may have lots of negativeperformance in physical, psychological and behavioral. Such asphysical appear high cortisol levels, heart rate acceleration, anddyspnea, muscle tension, sweating palms,stomachaches, toiletingaccidents, sleep disturbances; Psychological appear shy, fear,loneliness, grief, anger and depression conditions;Behavioral appearrunning away, aggressive or outbursts, crying, withdrawal, andover-reliance on, out of control and nervous fine motor behaviors (e.g.,hair twirling or pulling, chewing and sucking, biting fingernails).Themental stress may cause negative influence to young children,so as anpre-school education workers,we have the duty to try our best toreduce children mental stress.Empirical research in this study is divided into two parts, namely,the negative emotional events in kindergarten which young childrensself-report, and teachers report that the negative emotional events inkindergarten children maybe experience.The purpose is to find out thesource and the degree of children mental stress in kindergarten.Theinterview method is this studys mainly research method,we have invited120young children aged3-5and60kindergarten teachers,which isface-to-face interview for children and interview questionnaire for teachers.In this study, the following conclusions:During the period of kindergarten,young children will absorb acertain amount of mental stress, but its degree is mostly in a minor state.Young childrens mental stress is mainly distributed in fiveaspects:peer stress, including peer abuse, peer disturb, etc.; adult stress,including the unreasonable requirements and discourteous treatmentof teachers and nurses; life adjustment stress, including life skillsdeficiencies and physical problems; academic stress, including toomuch homework and too difficult, but on the one hand, the proportionis relatively small; other stress, including the addition to theabove-mentioned aspects of the mental stress.Young childrens self-reported the five sources of mental stressdo not exist significant gender differences; but for the peer stress andadult stress,there are significant differences between the age.In the internal classification of the peer stress young childrensself-report, there are significant gender differences in the relationshipviolations.But there are no significant gender differences in companiondisturb,physical abuse and property infringement. Different ages ofchildren reporting physical abuse, companions disturb and relationshipsviolation have significant differences, but significant age differencedoes not exist in the report of property infringement.Kindergarten teachers awareness of young childrens mentalstress is very sensitive and can basically keep consistent with youngchildrens self-report.According to the mental stress of young children in this study,the author have four suggestions for kindergarten teacher: respectingof young children rights based on children-oriented; giving priority toplay durning daily activity and supporting the free of childrenspontaneous games; paying more attention to peer interaction and teacher-children interaction; Focusing on children mental health,helping children to cope with the mental stress.This study only interviewed in a public kindergarten in Shanghai,so the conclusions promotion is still very limited.The author just hope themajority of kindergarten teachers and parents can pay more attentionto young childrens mental stress durning the kindergarten period,and trytheir best to reduce the mental stress.
