Provincial College Graduate Employment Situation Analysis And Countermeasures Research

The problem of college students’employment has increasingly become the focus concern of our society. As one of the important provinces in the Western Development, Sichuan Province has a solid economic development foundation. The current post-disaster reconstruction and western economic highland development are creating favorable conditions for Sichuan’s further development; meanwhile, it is also providing great development opportunity due to the vigorous Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Area construction. Nevertheless, the existing industrial structure contradiction, the low economic development quality and benefit and the effect of international financial crisis has caused big impact on the employment in Sichuan Province. Especially with the college enrollment expansion, the college students’employment problem has become a difficulty in the employment issues. Through the analysis of current students’employment situation in Sichuan Provincial universities, this article, taking Chengdu University of Information Technology as an example, explores the reasons of difficult employment among students, and puts forward the related countermeasures to promote the college graduates’employment by comprehensive use of economics, higher education, management science, social science and other disciplines of knowledge, as well as using domestic and foreign university graduates’ employment theories and experiences for reference.This article includes four parts. The first part is the analysis of current students’employment in Sichuan Provincial University, and has specified analysis of the employment situation of Chengdu University of Information Technology in recent years; the second part is the explorations on the causes including social sectors, effects raised by university education and college students themselves; the third part, from the aspects of government, high education institution and students, provides the countermeasures and proposals for the promotion of students’ employment. Finally, it is the summary and the forecast.
