| ’Transit to Primary School" is a convergence of children from kindergarten to primary school. During this period, both kindergartens and primary schools have to make a series of efforts to build up a good study environment, and help our children have a smooth transition to step into the next level of education. All of us have to go through this convergence. It is so essential but till now we still cannot find a good solution to solve all the problems happened during this transition. Some children cannot adapt to the new environment well in the beginning, which will affect their whole education journey in the long term.\The study of "Transit to Primary School" is not very long in China and overseas. Most of the researchers focus more on factors of schools, teachers and parents, and to find out problems and solutions. But there isn’t much research or literature done from the point of family education. This paper is the first paper to propose the main factors of "Transit to Primary School" in China are Chinese parents’child-rearing concept, exam-oriented educational philosophy, boy’s social role, modern family structure and relationships, and existing school education model.Besides, the paper emphasizes that family education should coordinate with kindergarten and primary school and to use appropriate methods based on pre-school boys’physical and psychological characteristics. It could help pre-school boys build confidence and develop good study and living habits. We have two points to discuss here:firstly, the deviations of education for boys which parents have to correct. Secondly, the education methods which parents have to change to, which will help boys transit to primary schools smoothly eventually. The deviation of education for boys in city includes neglect the essentials of family education, emphasis too much on intellectual education, neglect of the cultivation of habits, lack of education on consistency and coherence, lack of awareness of rules and tasks, neglect of education on cooperation and independence, lack of the right view of boy’s education. Based on the physical and psychological characteristics of6-year old boy, the family should use the following methods during the transit to primary school, include:to establish the scientific concept of development of boys, to seek consistency between family members, to seek common grounds, to coordinate with schools, to make use of social resources and to prepare for the change. |
