A new basic education curriculum reform has been implemented since2001,now, it is entering the overall implementation phase. The implementation of thenew course standards of sports, it put forward new requirements for the work of schoolsports. Middle school sports games are an important part of the school sports as animportant organization form of the sports competition. It is also an inevitable trend ofnew curriculum reform.The concept of traditional middle school sports games and some existing problemsdepart from the new curriculum connotation, how to change them, give full play to theirfunctions, and adapt to the new situation.This paper is based on this purpose, using the method of literature, questionnaire,interview, and mathematical statistics and so on, through investigating the status of themiddle school sports games in Dazhou, there are some problems in organizing mode,project settings, Games venue, evaluation method and the male and female students onSports satisfaction. Aiming at these problems, and combining the domestic and foreignsports development situation, this paper puts forward the following suggestions:(1) School must renew an idea, and establish the concept of lifelong physicaleducation.(2) The traditional mode should be reformed in term of school’s student needs,faculty and the reality of school conditions. It maybe set a variety of feature sportswhich have arrangements at flexible time in line with students’ psychological andphysiological characteristics.(3) A new school sports should have rich content, break through the traditionalmethod of scoring, and appropriately improve rules, to mobilize the interest of studentsto participate in.(4) It also can make way to open a number of channels to add funds for improvingthe condition of school sports facilities.
