With China’s sustained economic development, resident’s living standards continue toimprove, in physiological, safety and other basic needs are met under the premise, peoplestart to pursue social, respect and some other high levels of demand. Among them, thesports and sports service consumption increases gradually. Sports consumption as animportant part of residents’ consumption, affect the sports industry and the growth of GDP.As the product of the realization of the value of the final condition of sports consumption,sports production determines the direction of. At the same time, sports consumption andsports the efficient way of product quality inspection. Sports consumption scale, structure,level determines the development of the sports industry and scale. Therefore, analysis ofthe sports consumption of the residents on the sports industry drive and influence not onlyhas theoretical significance, but also has the practice significance.Previous studies or general attention to problems in the development of sportsindustry, cause, or mainly from the marketing and the management system of restrictingfactors for the development of sports industry, sports consumption and sports industry therelationship still does not see more structural analysis. Compared with, based onZhengzhou residents’ sports consumption situation on the basis of field survey, in thisrespect undertook preliminary attempt. The full text is divided into six parts: the first part,in the domestic and foreign literature, related concepts on the basis of summarizing, papersrelating to the sports consumption, sports concept; the second part, from the developmentof the sports industry background, the sports industry of our country is subdivided intocompetition performance, physical fitness, sports goods, stadiums and other sevencategories, and then a detailed analysis of the sports industry development; the third part,through to the Zhengzhou city residents of field survey, statistics, analysis of the researchmethods of Zhengzhou city residents sports consumption behavior analysis, draw theconclusion: the residents’ sports consumption scale and huge potential, consumermotivations to consumption as the diverse situation; the fourth part is the focus of thispaper, according to the third part of the Zhengzhou city residents sports consumptioninvestigation results, analysis of residents consumption on sports industry drive effect; thefifth part, to restrict our country sports consumption and sports industry developmentfactors comprehensively study; sixth part, from the stimulation of residents’ sportsconsumption angle put forward to promote the development of sports industry relevant policy recommendations. Including the adjustment of the macro allocation policy,strengthen government on the sports industry support, deepening the reform in the sportsadministration system, standard management, guide the enterprises to cultivate brand,improve competitiveness etc..
