With the rapid development of economy and the progress of science andtechnology, there will be more and more international cooperation, which fostersmore inter-disciplinary talents who are not only expert in subject knowledge but alsohave a good command of a foreign language. The inter-disciplinary talents arewelcome most at employment market. As an effective method, many colleges anduniversities have been implementing bilingual teaching for more than ten years, whichproved successful.It is important to carry out bilingual teaching at independent colleges becausethey have been playing more and more important role in cultivating talents. But indoing so, the colleges met many problems, such as students’ poor English standard,not enough bilingual teachers, no suitable textbooks, students’ poor academicknowledge, no teaching evaluation system and etc. Based on Krashen’s inputhypothesis, Swain’s output hypothesis, the theory of constructivism, humanistictheory and the concepts of CLIL, the author adopts some methodologies includingquestionnaires, interviews and classroom observations to analyze the causes ofexisting problems from the aspects of classroom-teaching organization, students’English competence and the use of textbooks and put forward some strategies:organizing effective classroom teaching, improving bilingual teachers’ teaching levels,imposing students’ English competence, using textbook properly. At last, the authordesigns the mode of bilingual teaching evaluation systems of independent college,hoping they will be helpful for other independent colleges...
