Under the background of the new curriculum reform, facing the expansion of the growth of knowledge in21st century, the cultivation of the students’ innovation spirit and the improvement of the students’ practical ability is increasingly becoming the only way of lifelong learning. The strength of the innovation spirit and practical ability depends on the depth and breadth of the thinking, and the beginning of all thinking originate from problems, therefore, the question awareness of students is the premise that make students have the innovation spirit and practical ability, and that is the foundation to adapt the new era and the new curriculum reform.Question guiding teaching method is an effective teaching method, which through teacher’s guide, students as the center, combined with a series of problems scene to achieve teaching purpose and improve the students’ problem consciousness. On the basis of the present research of domestic and foreign, using the survey method (including questionnaire, interview, lectures, etc), the literature analysis method and action research method, based on the new curriculum standard, in view of the current situation of students problem consciousness, this topic studies operating procedures and implementation strategy of the problem guiding teaching training students’ problem consciousness, and through the education teaching practice for empirical research.Through the investigation of student problem consciousness, the conclusion is that the present students’ problem consciousness is very weak. Its main aspects cover:the ability of the students find and put forward questions is quite low, the level of solution to problems and enthusiasm is not high, the questioned consciousness and the innovation spirit is not high. In view of this situation, the authors puts forward the following strategies:(1) create problems scene, cultivating students’ interest in study, and make students want to ask;(2) cultivate students’ ability to solve problems from the "problem solving" link;(3) cultivate students’ ability to find and put forward questions from "inspire inquiry" link;(4) cultivate students questioned and innovation consciousness from "the evaluation mode" link. And it is illustrated with a specific case in geography class.Through teaching practice and related research of question guiding teaching method training geographic problem consciousness, that covers the following conclusions:(1) Students’ learning interest and performance of the geography improved obviously;(2) The number of students about find and puts forward questions significantly increased;(3) The quantity and quality of students find and puts forward questions increased significantly;(4) The methods to solve the problems significantly increased, the thinking is expanded;(5) The questioned consciousness and innovation ability get development. Therefore, the question guiding teaching method in the teaching of geography can be carrying out, and it is effective and feasible in improving students’ awareness of problem.The innovation point of this study is that is combined with the question guiding teaching method and high school geography teaching practice, aiming at the present situation of middle school students weak problems consciousness, the research has developed a set of effective strategies which can improve the students’ geographical problems consciousness, and it was used in high school geography teaching practice.
