As an important part of the comprehensive quality of graduate students, ideological and political quality plays the guiding role in the whole life and development of graduate students. Therefore, in the new period, strengthening and improving graduate students’ ideological and political education are objective requirements for all-round development of postgraduate, and also the need of social development trend. This article was trying to bring humanistic psychology theory into graduate students’ ideological and political education, so as to promoting people scientifically to understand the main part, object, and psychological law of interaction of the main part and object, which can improve applicability and effectiveness of graduate students’ ideological and political education. Throughout, this article had the following characteristics:First, it comprehensively and systematically studied of the beneficial results of Humanistic Psychology, and explores the theoretical basis and historical background of Humanistic Psychology, which provided basis and conditions for objectively evaluating scientifically of humanistic psychology. Therefore, the article reflected the characteristics of comprehensiveness and spirits of the time.Secondly, this article did classification inquiry of Humanistic Psychology into methodology, human nature, values, educational philosophy and psychological treatment concept. Therefore, it introduced various ideas of humanistic psychology, and appropriately combined all ideas of humanistic psychology and all elements&links of graduate students’ ideological and political education. Therefore, the article reflected features of discipline and practicality.Thirdly, the paper first introduced the basic theory of Humanistic Psychology, on the basis, dialectically analyses current ideological and political education of graduate students, and elaborated Humanistic Psychology’s benefits on the application of graduate students’ ideological and political education, which gave enlightenment and exploration.. The paper strictly followed the role of "What-why-how to do it" with gradually in-depth logical structure,. Therefore, the paper reflected hierarchical and logical characteristics.The thesis included five chapters, and can be divided into three main parts. The first part (chapter) introduced the purpose of choosing the topic, significance of literature review, ideas and innovations. The second part (the second, three, four chapters) outlined the historical background, theoretical content and the theoretical basis of the theory of Humanistic Psychology, laying the theoretical basis of the paper. It also analyzed the status of ideological and political education of graduate students, and also clarified the relationship between psychology and the ideological and political education, and then clarified relationship between humanistic psychology and ideological and political education. The third part (Chapter five) discusses enlightenment taken by Humanistic Psychology Theory to ideological and political education of Chinese graduate students.
