To compensate for and strengthen the research in Kohlberg’s moral philosophyand gain useful insights on the Chinese ideological and political education, thepaper takes this as the starting point. It combs the formation and content ofKohlberg’s moral philosophy, grasps its characteristics and then gives a briefevaluation and combines with the current situation and requirements of Chineseideological and political education, to seek the useful insights of Kohlberg’s moralphilosophy.Kohlberg’s moral philosophy is the logic of Lawrence Kohlberg whichgradually formed in his academic course of the study, after twice circulation ofpsychological theory-Education Practice-philosophical reflection. It criticallyassimilate the ideological essence of the composition which reasonable, includingSocrates, Plato, Kant, Rawls, Habermas and other Western moral philosophy,inheritance Dewey’s progressivism the cognitive development of philosophy,combined with Kohlberg’s own conclusions, and stands apart.The paper suggest that Kohlberg’s moral philosophy has four characteristics,namely, its moral value-oriented, proactive construction of nature, the prescriptiveof principle and cognitive forms. In addition, the contributions and limitations ofKohlberg’s moral philosophy co-exist. Chinese ideological and political educationhas made considerable progress, but there are still many problems to be solved.Overall, the Kohlberg’s moral philosophy can provide both positive and negativeaspects of inspiration for it.
