From the new perspective of Kohlberg’s moral-cognitive development theory, this research studies the effectiveness and the basic characterization of moral education of China’s higher education and the causal relationship in between. Based on this, this research borrows Kohlberg’s moral-cognitive development theory to explore the path of ascension the effectiveness of moral education In China.The study is divided in to four parts, the first part proposes the origin and significance of the topic, and summarizes the current status and analyzes its shortcomings of domestic research, Clarify the novelty of this study compared with previous studies. In the second part, we refine the core ideas of Kohlberg’s moral-cognitive development theory to do the theoretical groundwork. The third part focuses on the analysis of the current situation of the effectiveness of moral education in our country, and puts forward the basic characterization of current moral education, on this basis, using Kohlberg’s moral-cognitive development theory to do causal analysis for demonstrate the cause of the current lack of effectiveness of moral education. The fourth part describes the specific references to use Kohlberg’s moral-cognitive development theory in moral education of China’s higher education. First this study demonstrates the feasibility of using Kohlberg’s moral-cognitive development theory to enhance the effectiveness of moral education, then proposes specific reference ideas specific paths of using the Kohlberg’s moral-cognitive development theory to enhance the effectiveness of moral education specific pathes.
