With the vigorous development of information technology, web coursesare also increasingly subject to the attention of educator. Under the guidance of theeducational policies of our country, most universities and colleges actively set up webcourses, especially excellent courses which have been increasing fast. As an effectivetype of educational resources, web courses have become effective approaches to boost thecreativity of education, to share the quality resources and to comprehensively improveour national education.Nevertheless, we are clearly aware of the problems:―Pay attention to design anddevelopment, neglect application‖is a common phenomenon of the current networkcourse building. Many web courses are often shelved after building, but very seldom usedfor the implementation. Web courses design and development only created the basiccondition for teaching and learning networks, which really play important role dependingon the specific application. Although many scholars have begun to focus on web courseimplementation programs, hardly anyone research a complete Web-based course, specificto the teaching practice, using scientific research methods to systematic applicant.This paper based on the campus network platform to design and develop onlinecourses as a case study so as to in-depth study the instruction implementation throughquestionnaires, interviews and other experimental methods and summarize the problem aswell as analyze causes of the problem for course implementation, including learners, thenetwork platform, teachers and so on, then provide the corresponding improvementmeasures.The paper is divided into five parts. This article firstly gives the introduction for thepaper to illustrate the problem, meaning, ideas and methods of this study. Secondly, thisarticle describes the theoretical foundation and the research status of our Web-basedteaching and learning as well as College Web Course Implementation. The third part isthe core of the paper. The writer designed and developed online courses according to thecontent and learners of <Cross-cultural communication theory and practice> of SUniversity, besides the writer done the course implementation as the curriculum assistantfor more than a semester. The write analyzed the problem of the course implementationand the reasons for the problems through questionnaires, experimental research, case interviews methods. The forth part summarizes the experience during the experiment andprovides the some advice to improve the implementation of college web course. The lastpart of the paper points out the shortcomings of this research.
