Education, which is supposed to be an action of civilizing people, should cherish students’life. However, the education in reality is not in such a position. Under the value of utilitarianism, education puts more and more attention to the scientific knowledge and therefore loses sight of the humanity of students. This kind of education, which makes knowledge and moral depart from each other, will at last lead to the deficiency of high school students’ life meaning and the lowering of their life quality. During recent years, the frequent events of teenagers’ ignoring life also illustrate that it is in dead need to have life education. In this paper, the author analyzes the life education and Chinese teaching in high school first and tries to find out the combination of these two by argumentation and practice exploration.This paper starts with the basic concept of life education and its development, previous research home and abroad, and its practical situation. And then the paper analyzes the theoretical bases of developing life education in Chinese teaching in middle school, which has the demand of life philosophy and quality-oriented education in Chinese traditional education. The paper next mainly analyzes the advantages of developing life education in Chinese teaching in middle school, which include the following four aspects:first, responding to the Chinese curriculum standard; second, the rich material of life education in Chinese textbooks such as the text of patriotism which reflect the value of life, the text of kinship which shows the profound life care, the text of persistence which shows the firm of life, and last even the story of the author which is the material of life education; third, the humanity of Chinese text book in middle school for the emotion education in Chinese teaching; fourth, the mental features of teenagers determining that middle school is the critical period of developing life education; last, the author does some practical exploration in the following aspects:how to improve teachers’ability of life education, reading class, writing class, and activity class, by which this research is more convincing. The life education ability of Chinese teachers is the key to the development of life education in Chinese teaching. Thereby, they should be model in both their education words and their activities. Reading class, writing class and activity class are the important way to development life education. This paper commits to make life education permeate in daily high school Chinese teaching and as a result students become more and more likely to cherish life and finally promote their life quality.
