Cultivating student’s innovation ability is the social demand for education. At present, we lack the system research in the question of junior middle school students solving openness mathematics application problems, and students’ ability to solve application problems is not satisfactory. In order to fully grasp the pulse of the times and deepening quality education, as a first line mathematics teacher, we should make beneficial explorations on the openness mathematics problems and teaching.”21st century is the century of creative education”, learning the openness mathematics application problems is effective ways in positive proceeding creative personality, creative ability and the creative thought training during students’ mathematics study. If we grasp this, cultivating student’s innovation consciousness and divergent thinking would become reality.In the paper, through the difference of students’ test scores and ability scores on openness application problems, we do my cognitive analysis in the aspects of problem solving strategies, problem solving mistakes, the way of characterization and problem solving thought. We conclude influencing factors on the difference of junior middle school students solving openness mathematics application problems, such as analytic ability, quality characteristics of mathematical thought, transfer of learning ability, life experience and so on.The text also summarize the enlightenment of teaching:1. The teachers should have the consciousness to enable students to act as protagonists of classroom so that the students boldly challenge, eliminate doubts and answer questions.2. Ask some open issues when the teacher teach new knowledge, and take these issues as the starting point to mobilize the students ’ curiosity and enthusiasm.3. Provide students with many opportunities for various exchanges and organize students to conduct some society investigations and comprehensive practical activities to exposure with social life.4. Design some open questions in practice to allow students to thinking and enhance their divergence of thinking.5. Take the form of open evaluation on the open questions, for instance, the introduction of evaluation of ability score will make the scores of students would not be under the influence of level of these test questions.
