This paper quantitatively studied the effect of open and closed-ended problems types of physics in senior high school on:a) the students’enthusiasm in participation, b) the unfair degree of group members’ participation, c) the types of interactional activities, d) tendency of the solution process, e) the results of teamwork, and f) differences of performance between girls and boys in computer-based collaborative learning environment (CCLE) at the same time. The participants were 40 senior high school students from Nanjing, which were randomly designated into ten groups under the premise of 2 boys and 2 girls in each group to work on the each kind of problem about Newtonian Kinematics. The data showed that the students’ performances are better at physics closed-ended problems. There were significant differences in two types of problems’ results of teamwork and solution development. It is found that the students in senior high school showed lower enthusiasm and better fairness relatively in participation of solving physics open-ended problems, but the differences were not statistically significant. The results revealed that the physics education should pay more attention to open-ended problems in senior high school, which should connect with college physics education.
