Our country is made up of56nationalities, among which55are minorities. In thegroups of minorities, wowen’s physical condition are rarely cared. To make the“National fitness program” activity carried out successfully, an analysis on theinfluential factors on body-building is absolutely indispensable. Rencently, some studieshave been done in this field, but barely have any of the researchers done their researchesin the community of villages and towns, concerning middle-aged and old women ofTujia minority. What’s more, those women’s physical condition are hardly paiedattenion to.This paper is based on a survey of questionnaires, using documentationmethod,Site survey, interview, mathematical statistics method to make a research onmiddle-aged and old women of Tujia Minority, lived in village community in EnShiZhou, studying their body-building activities. After the research, I draw a conclusion asfollows:The body-building characters of middle-aged and old women in that field can bedivided into seven parts. Firstly, they have not formed relatively steady values.Secondly, their cultural level are commonly low. Thirdly, their family income andsports consumption level are low. Fourthly, they have positive attitudes towardbody-building and expicit purpose. Fifthly, they don’t have intensive time forbody-building. Sixthly, they don’t usually go out for body-building, but they havearesonable arrangements. Seventhly, they have various form of practice, but they takedance as their priority. Eighthly, they don’t have fixed places for body-building.The reasons of why those women take part in body-building activity can betwofold: the factors of bevior as subject and the factors of behavior as object. In theformer reason, those women usually have a lot of homework to do, don’t have enoughtime and companions for body-buiding, or don’t even like sports because they areafraid of being teased by others. As for the later reason, there are several factors tosupport it: the imperfect policy and laws and regulations; the underdevoloped localeconomy; the not-so-well circumstance for body-buiding; the lacking of equipments andinstructors; the imperfect social security system and so on.In consideration of these questions, this research puts forward the relevant strategyas suggestions. To start with, the local government should properly help those womenbuild up scientific values on body-building and strengthen the foundamentalconstruction of sports, giving full play to the effection of mass media and construct abetter circusmtance for body-building, so as to arouse the enthusiasm of themiddle-aged and old women and help them create a better phsycal condition.
