Along with the rapid development of our national industry, agriculture and thetertiary industry, the demands of technology talents are soaring in all walks of life. Atthe same time, the high skill talents are also putted forward higher requirements.Proficient in both theory and business skilled people are quite popular in the socialindustry. In order to fit in the market and integrate with it, our country proposesvigorous development of professional education. Higher vocational education isspringing up rapidly, and is responsible for society to train a large number of hightechnology, applied talents on production and service line. However, due to the highervocational education of our country started later, the college of software and hardwarefacilities couldn’t keep up with the demand of talents cultivation, so the highervocational students’ training quality is worrying. The most typical problem is theirpractical ability. During the period of college, if the students did not master trade skills,it will be hard to competent for job responsibilities after their graduation, and also bedifficult to find a foothold in the society. So how to cultivate qualified personnel, whocan brain and hands, both have solid theory knowledge and strong practical skills, itbecomes the urgent problems for vocational college must be solved.First of all, from the view of philosophy, psychology and education theory, thisthesis analyses the meanings and summarizes the higher vocational students’characteristics of practical ability, it also expounds the importance on cultivating thestudents’ practical ability in higher vocational education. Then setting the questionnaire,this thesis investigates the current situation of higher vocational college students’practical ability training, and summarizes the existing problems.According to the existing problems of practical ability training in higher vocationalcolleges, this thesis puts forward six strategies from both theory and practical view.First, the curriculum system must be reformed, the teaching practice must bestrengthened; Second, the teaching material system of the vocational education’scharacteristic must be constructed; Third, practical teaching system must be perfected; Forth, the construction of double-professionally-titled teachers must be strengthened;Fifth, a perfect with ability as the center of the practice teaching evaluation system mustbe established; Sixth, the students’ independent planning consciousness of practicalability training must be strengthened. From the external cause, higher vocationalcolleges should strengthen the construction of software and hardware, update teachingideas and give definitely talent cultivation aim. From internal cause, higher vocationalcolleges should strengthen the students’ independent planning consciousness of practicalability training and improve the students’ practical ability by inspiring the students’practical enthusiasm, encouraging them to join professional association, enrichingextracurricular practice and strengthening the student’s employment guidance, etc.This thesis puts forward some countermeasures about the students’ practical abilitytraining of higher vocational colleges, through the questionnaire investigation, literaturereview and the writer’ experience and humble opinions at work. Finally, it hopes to givecertain guiding significance on the students’ practical ability for higher vocationalcolleges.
