Old People In The Community Home Endowment Caregivers Can Explore

This study takes the Day Care Centers for elderly in Yang-Pu District as research sample, in order to study the powerlessness condition of the Caregivers in the provision system of community care for elderly. The study finally identify the caregivers’ powerlessness facts, including age structure, academic qualifications, professional competency, service capacity, unidentified functions, and the status.According to theories about empowerment and related motivation theories, identify and exam the courses of powerlessness from two aspects, the structural approach and the motivational approach. As for the structural aspect, lack of opportunity, resources, and information, and insufficient organizational support and autonomy all play great negative role in the process. With regard to the motivational aspect, emotional support from family and elders, and caregivers’ understanding of the meaning and impact of the job have positive influence, but choices and capacity promotion play the negative roles.At the end of this paper, author gives out some policy advices in order to change the powerlessness condition and promote the caregivers.
