Cooperative learning is one of teaching organized forms in class, which is used more andmore widely in the world in these years. And it is also a kind of creative and effectiveteaching theory and strategy systern70s in the20thcentury, cooperative learning became afashion in American educational field.“Cooperative learning is one of the largest educationalreform nowadays.”asserted by Ellis, A.K.&Fouts, J.T., the famous American education critic.Since1990s, cooperative learning and group cooperation came into primary school inour country. The cooperative learning as a new kind of teaching theory and pattern, it is basedon the cooperative learning group, systernatically involved various factors in teaching,regards group’s result as the evaluation criteria, in this way it promotes all students to achievethe teaching goal together. The cooperative learning plays an important role in improvingstudent’s academic achievement and forming the good non-cognitional quality of the student.With a new round of curriculum reform and the deepening of the concept of the newcurriculum to keep on learning and understanding,as well as change the way studentsstudy,the classroom teaching English in primary schools has a new look. National Standardsof English Course(Experimental Edition)explicitly indicates:the focus of reform of Englishcourse is to change the situation of putting more emphasis on grammar and lexicalexplanations,and of the tendency of overlooking learners’language performance on actualoccasions.The reform advocates experience,practice,participation, cooperative andcommunicative learning style and task-oriented approach based on learners’interests,lifeexperience and cognitive level,aiming at developing learners’comprehensiveabilities.Cooperative learning as a breakthrough and complement against traditionalclassroom instruction is widely applied in the instructional design of English courses forprimary school.The cooperative learning plays an important role in arousing classroom studyatmosphere,stimulating the students’interests in English study,improving student’s academicachievement and forming the good non-cognitional quality of the student.The author illustrates ‘Cooperative Learning’ by studying the achievements made in thefield both home and abroad. A general survey has been made on the related researches and studies. Cases of ‘Cooperative Learning’ implementation in class has been designed andanalyzed.1. Able to a large area in primary school English teaching, cooperative learning toimprove students’ English grades, especially more significant role of the low achievementlevels of students; have a very significant impact on cooperative learning for boys and girls inEnglish learning, and the impact on girls is higher than boys.2. In the primary school English teaching, cooperative learning can improve studentlearning self-efficacy, self-efficacy level of the students of different learning had verysignificant impact; cooperative learning self-efficacy had very significant impact on boys andgirls learn, and the degree of influence of the girls slightly higher than boys.3. Through cooperative learning can improve students’ interpersonal relationships,interpersonal level students have a very significant effect; cooperative learning interpersonalboys and girls had very significant impact, and the impact on girls slightly higher than boys.
