At present, the mental pressure of college students becomes more and more serious; thepsychological disorder caused by pressure gets more obvious and has deeply influenced thestudents’ life, behavior and individual thinking. However, the traditional ideological andpolitical education mode could not satisfy the internal need of contemporary college studentsany more. Therefore, it is particularly important to combine the ideological political educationand psychological counseling. This paper focuses on studying the application ofpsychological counseling in the university ideological and political education system.The research on psychological counseling used in university ideological and politicaleducation can not be delayed considering the huge effectiveness in eliminating individualpsychological barriers and guiding personality perfection.The target of this thesis is to explain the content, questions and importance ofpsychological counseling which is adopted in university ideological and political education,and to analyze the relation between them, and to make further discussion about the specificstrategies which are used in the Chinese ideological and political education and try to improvethe substantial results of university ideological and political education gained frompsychological counseling.As for research methods, this paper applies the materialist dialectics, the method ofcombining theory and practice, multi-intedisciplinary research approach, documentaryresearch method, and logical analyses. Marxist materialist dialectics is the most basic methodused in this article.In this paper, Psychological counseling and the relationship of the ideological andpolitical education reflecting the materialist dialectics; In order to grasp the content andimportance of psychological counseling played in university of ideological and politicaleducation more clearly, the multi-intedisciplinary research approach and documentaryresearch method are adopted; During discussing the problem and reasons of the psychologicalcounseling in the ideological and political education, the logical analysis method is applied;About the analysis of the last question–the countermeasures of psychological counseling played in the ideological and political education are used. There are not only theories fromrelated disciplines acting as guidance but also exploring a specific strategy.This dissertation consists of five chapters.The first part deals with the introduction, the following issues are described briefly: Theresearch ideas, frameworks and research methods.The second part deals with the meaning of psychological counseling and the relationshipbetween psychological counseling and ideological and political education. This section brieflydescribes the basic meaning of psychological counseling, emphatically introduces therelationship between psychological counseling and ideological and political education.Psychological counseling and ideological and political education have close contact in theway of work, the same targets and they are complementary in function.The third part, the content and importance of psychological counseling played inideological and political education, the content of psychological counseling in the ideologicaland political education includes two parts: reducing college students’ ideological barriers anddirecting individual behavior. The importance of psychological counseling played in theideological and political education mainly include: first, psychological counseling is aneffective way of ideological and political education; Second, psychological counseling makesthe ideological and political education more targeted and effective; Third, psychologicalcounseling can promote self-improvement of students’ personality; Fourth, psychologicalcounseling can reflect the human value of ideological and political education; Fifth,psychological counseling can make the ideological and political education become morerealistic.The fourth part, the problems and reasons of the psychological counseling played in theideological and political education. The main problem includes: first, psychologicalcounseling and ideological and political education is out of line; Second, the psychologicalcounseling mechanisms of campus are inadequate; Third, the psychological counseling playedin the ideological and political education makes little successful. Specific reasons are listed byanalyzed carefully: First, the traditional philosophy of education affect the application ofpsychological counseling;Second, the college counselors are lack of knowledge of psychological counseling and divert inappropriately; Third, the college students agree on theconcept of psychological counseling, but do not act the behavior of psychological counseling.The fifth part, the specific strategies of psychological counseling played in ideologicaland political education. Some related strategies are raised according to the problems of thecourse of psychological counseling in the ideological and political education. This paperdiscusses the application of the mental counseling in ideological and political education fromthe following aspect: Combining mental counseling and ideological and political education,gradual improving the college psychological counseling mechanism gradually, changing thetraditional ideological and political education strategy for reasonable psychologicalcounseling and education to students, guiding students to change their concept and accept themental counseling.Based on the above analysis, we can reach the conclusions: the prevalence ofpsychological problems have seriously affected the life and learning of college students,therefore it is necessary to strengthen the application of psychological counseling in theideological and political education.
