Contemporary College Students’ Values Education Research

Values education has been a focus of scholars at home and abroad for a long time, and its contents, forms and methods usually show different features during different periods and in different social and historical backgrounds. As contemporary college students stand in a new time, their values’ formation and evolution are influenced by lots of aspects, and the characteristics of their values are more and more complicated. Effectively carrying out the values education of contemporary college students is related not only to their healthy grown-up, but also to the development of the country and the stability of the society. Therefore, it is a highlighted problem for higher education to realize and grasp the importance of values education and actively explore the suitable methods of values education, and it also should be widely paid close attention to by families and society. For the purpose of strengthening modern college students’ values education and lessening modern college students’ poor values trends, the author of this paper uses associated theory in ideological and political education and knowledge in humanities to make a deep research on this subject.From the point of basic theory of contemporary college students’values, the paper firstly illustrates the meanings of value, values, and values of contemporary college students, and then analyzes the importance of values education on the basis of understanding the contents above. In the essay, this part is the theoretical principle of advancing the study. On this premise, according to the investigation results, the paper puts forward the college students’ values condition at present, including main characteristics and negative trends, and analyzes the reasons from society, students themselves, and education in order to guide the proper solutions next. Finally, proposes the ways to ease the poor values trends of modem college students from rules, contents, and detailed approaches. This part turns itself to search some effective manners of contemporary college students" values education, from many available angles, to form resultant force for the improvement of pertinence and effectiveness of college students’values education in essence.
