Study On The Construction Of Knowledge Structure Model Of Engineers

With the development of engineering works and engineering philosophy, the group of engineers are concerned in recent years. However, more research is about the origin the development and the ethical responsibility of engineers. And few scholars research on the knowledge structure of engineers. This article focus on the engineer’s knowledge structure is the intrinsic nature of engineers, which is necessary to support the activities, and career development for engineers.This paper, studied how to construct the knowledge structure of Engineers, using knowledge theory, system theory and constructivism as basical theory. The method of a combination of history and logic was used in the paper. After defining the concept of engineering and engineers, knowledge and knowledge structure, this paper defined knowledge structure of engineers. It is researched how the knowledge structure of engineers historical evolved with a historical perspective, which is in the pre-industrial society, industrial society and post-industrial society. Then, it was mainly clarified that "integrated" model of Engineers’knowledge structure and how to construct it.The knowledge structure of engineers is defined as the knowledge which is in the mind of engineers’, including the number, the ratio the contact interaction and the overall function of the knowledge, in this paper,. Secondly, there are3kinds of model in the course of historical evolution, and they are "experience-oriented" in pre-industrial society, the "theory-based" model in industrial society and "integrated" model in post-industrial society."Integrated" model of knowledge structure of engineers was explained that there were4level:basic level, tools level, core level and extensive level, which adapted to the characteristics of dynamic, open innovation and the core-level; Fourthly, the construction of "integrated" knowledge structure of engineers means that engineers chose certain knowledge to study through engineering education engineering practice and continue engineering education, with the guidance of certain view of knowledge, based on the mechanism of Construction of "integrated" knowledge structure of engineers, a number of strategies were proposed to construct the model, such as construction of the main concept that adapt to post-industrial era, engineering education, engineering practice and continue engineering education developing jointly.In this paper, the evolution of knowledge structure of engineers was combed in a historical perspective. And it is proposed that "integrated" knowledge structure of engineers. Then the mechanism and Strategies of construction of "integrated" knowledge structure of engineers were explored. The study will deepen the engineering philosophy, and it is very important to engineering education and to the development of engineers.
