With the open data of Sina Microblog, the microblog quickly develops in our country,and is becoming the fastest growing Internet application tool. In recent years, by the end of2011, the users of microblog reached250million. Because of its strong "We Media" attribute,the microblog wins the interests of the majority of Internet users, especially young people’sfavorites. It is changing the public’s media habits and information dissemination patterngradually. Now it is the most active information dissemination platform in social media, andthe college students becomes its main forces. With new features, the microblog which bringsa great and positive effect opens a door for college students’ use of network. But themicroblog also is a double-edged sword. It has produced lots of negative effects to the collegestudents’ ideological and behavior, which is unable to avoid the ideological and politicaleducation. So guiding college students to participate in microblog healthily and searching forthe mode how to use microblog is the urgent task.My research object in this paper is the college students. Combining with the currentsituation, I will summarize the positive and negative aspects of the microblog to collegestudents’ ideological and behavior. I read lots of related documents, analyze the existingproblems and causes that the college students participate in the microblog.The aim is to findthe corresponding countermeasures of how to guide the college students to participate in themicroblog healthily, with the hope that it is beneficial for the ideological and politicaleducation.This paper has four parts besides the introduction and conclusion.The first part is to define the concept of microblog, analyze the characteristics ofmicroblog, and review the development situation of domestic and overseas. Characteristics ofmicroblog have four main areas: grassroots use of popular subjects, originally fragmenteddissemination, instant diversification and fissile stereo transmission mode.The second part is mainly to analyze the positive and negative aspects of the microblogto college students’ ideological and behavior. On the basis of reading literatures, this papersums up the impact of the microblog to the college students, whose background is that college students in our country is the main force users. On one hand, college students broaden thesources of information channels, speed the update of modern concept, meet the demand ofemotion psychology and expand the scope of social circle; On the other hand, collegestudents’ cognitive and judgment are affected, and their moral,psychological, political beliefare also affected.The third part is mainly to survey the situation of college students to participate in themicroblog, and analyze the existing problems and causes. Firstly the paper surveys the genderof the students involving in microblog, school education levels and other basic information.Secondly it surveys the habits of college students participating in microblog, the degree ofparticipation in microblog, motives purposes, the main activities of the microblog andself-evaluation. In the process of participating in the microblog, there are different degrees inthe lack of trust, pollution of the yellow information and entertainment. The reasons of theseproblems are related to many factors, such as, the Internet environment remains to beregulated, the social environment has many problems, university environment has not beenperfected yet and college students have unique psychological characteristics.The fourth part is mainly to put forward the countermeasures of guiding students toparticipate in the microblog healthily. The government should firstly create a good networkenvironment for college students. The Government and the civil service should activelyinvolve in microblog and improve public information transparency.They should build asound legal and regulation system and make microblog run regularly. They use theadministration, the technology and so on to manage the micro abundant platform. Universitiesand teachers’ follow-up should strengthen behavior management to college students.Universities and teachers should treat microblog correctly and can know both positive andnegative impacts. They can actively respond to microblog, train teachers of both ability andpolitical integrity. They can guide students correctly and can make college microblog theeducation positions for college students’ thinking and behavior. They should enthusiasticallyparticipate in microblog and play educational function of universities and teachers’ microblog.They should conscientiously manage microblog and build a new system of college microblogsecurity system. Students strengthen self-discipline and correctly use the microblog. College students as the main participants should correctly know microblog tool and enhance strongpoints and avoid weaknesses of microblog. They can use microblog healthily and follow thenetwork social morality. They can consciously avoid microblog addiction and strive to bemicroblog owner. Parents and the social’s forces should construct harmonious atmosphere forcollege students to use microblog correctly. Parents should play family education role fullyand pay closely attention to the student and university. The micro professions should enhanceSelf-discipline and restrain unhealthy information from the source. Newspaper, magazine,film and television raise the Self-discipline level. We should also play the populace mediaeducation function. The ordinary cyber citizen should be bound by their own words and deeds,also must display the public scrutiny the function.
