Martial arts schools play an important role in chinese martial arts’continuty and succession, at the same time, they are educational orgnization of basic education phase. Most of the students in martial arts schools are about5to18years old, they are not only studying martial arts but also studying science knowledge at the same time. These schools’tenet is "learning martial arts and science knowledge at the same time, be accomplished with both the pen and sword", in order to cultivate versatile students for our society. The rise of martial arts schools contribute a lot to spreading the martial arts activities for the public and this fulfill the masses’wish of preacticing martial arts for fitness. Martial arts schools diversify the development forms of our basic education system, and train a lot of martial arts’athletes, at the same time, it make a big different to chinese sports’undertakings.In the prevailing period of martial arts, there are about460martial marts training centres and32martial arts schools in peixian(a county of XuZhou city, in Jiangsu province, China). In recent years, learning martial arts is not so popular, the teenagers who want to study martial arts are plunging, which directly leads to the decrease of the students, and the number of martial arts schools. Unfortunately, some martial arts school in peixian are merged, and some are close down, the good martial arts schools are trying very hard to seek a way for sustainable development of themselves. There are only8martial arts schools in peixian now. In the background of propagating chinese traditional sports in China, what’s the problem in the developing process of martial martial arts school? Why did all of these problems happen? Hwo should martial arts school develop? These questions should be think about by the correlative departments. We should pay more attention to martial arts schools’current situation, and find out the problems and the ways to solve them, in ordor to inherit chinese martial arts and make the martial arts schools develop better.The thesis’s research object is "the current situation of martial arts schools in peixian", and these schools embody one public martial arts school and seven private martial arts schools. The author interviewed and investigated the principles and the teachers in these schools. In the thesis, the author did the research and analysis though the methods of literature, questionaire, interview, and methematical statistics. Martial arts schools have obtained some achievements during the deceloping process:1.they are trained a lot of excellent martial arts athletes, and contributed to chinese sports’ undertakings.2.they are spreading martial arts and this is good for martial arts’continuty and succession.3.they are made martial arts activities popular in peixian, and enhance people’s health though practicing.Along with the achievements, there are some problems too:1.the relevant departments didn’t do enough work to supervise the martial arts school, which leads to the permission of running martial arts schools is not so strict.2.the trend of developing martial arts schools is not so good, and nowadays martial arts schools face problems like less students and declining school scale.3.they are not so efficient, that is means the students they trained can’t up to the standards of professional martial arts students.4.the funds for martial arts school is not enough, and the schools’basic installation needs to be improved.5.eachers structure in martial arts schools needs to be optimized.6.some martial arts schools’curriculum can’t guarantee students’learning time of science knowledge.7.some martial arts schools lack the relevant proper management, division of the work is not concrete.There are some advices about how to solve the problems in martial arts schools in peixian:1.the relevant departments should strenghten the evaluation and management of martial arts schools, and be strict in giving permission of running martial arts schools.2.improve social influence of martial arts schools though the propaganda.3.pay more attention on students’moral education, learn morality before martial arts is ever learned, acquire virtues before martial arts is ever acquired.4.improve the basic installation of martial arts schools in peixian and create better studying environment for the students.5.improve the teachers’all-round qulities of martial arts schools.6.try to standardize the schools’curriculum and make it more proper and practical.7.improve martial arts schools’management system, and make it more efficient.8.try to explore new model for martial arts schools by opening up new ideas about school-running.
