Four colleges like Beijing Jiaotong University which located in Beijing conducted joint exam in2005opened a prelude to the joint exam of college autonomous admissions. Joint exam makes up for the drawbacks of college single test, its main purpose is to select students efficiently and plural. This study does an in-depth analysis of joint exam on the basis of explaining the causes of the joint exam and analyzing the current situation of it, and it points out the key factor of joint exam’s reforming is to make an accurate position.Colleges conduct joint exam is not only saving cost and reducing risk, colleges have made significant breakthroughs in the use of exam scores, but also helping colleges expand their admission autonomy. Joint examination is in the midst of change now, and there are some key problems exist in it, for example:the application conditions and enrollment scope contrary to educational fairness, the locations and timing of joint exam are not reasonable, the subjects of joint exam are familiar to College Entrance Exam, urbanization tendency of the test proposition. the stability of joint exam is poor and is easy to increase the psychological burden of candidates, joint exam plays a limited role in college admissions. The College Entrance Examination and public opinion have influenced the joint exam, but they aren’t the excuses of colleges’present blindness and transmutation in autonomous admissions, the key factor is that colleges lack a steady, complete and scientific admissions program. Colleges are not clear about recruiting what kind of students, so they just follow the trend blindly, the joint exam just looks like "a small College Entrance Exam" and "Pinching Wars"Autonomous admissions joint exam is characterized by "joint", but the premise is "autonomous", the government should give more rights to colleges. But no matter what position College Entrance Examination takes, colleges should hold their ground. First, make an accurate position for joint exam to help it truly become both commonness, individual and scientific. Colleges should regard scientificalness as a primary principle while they are autonomous, strengthen the theoretical study of college admissions, develop a set of scientific and reasonable admission standards, and use scientific theories to guide autonomous admissions. Second, the reforming of joint examination should focus on the fairness of selection, especially fairness between urban and rural students. Colleges should select students all around the country. Third, autonomous admissions is not open admissions, colleges must publicize their admission information, and accept the supervision of the government and the community.
