Study On The Evaluation Of Project Financial Management And Practice Training Room

As the continuous development and advancement of financial industry in China,there is a pressing demand for talents who possess sound understanding andknowledge of international and domestic financial markets, as well as goodcommands of financial tools which enable them to operate efficiently and effectively.At present, the majority of financial programs from domestic education providerspredominately focus on theoretic studies. The insufficient focus on practices andoperation in virtual environment has led to the inability to meet the market demandsfor financial talents. As such, the Financial Virtualization Laboratory is designed toprovide a wide range of activities that complement the classroom experience and toequip students with the right skills.Financial Virtualization Laboratory is established through the use ofcutting-edge software tools and resources to mimic a trading room environment. This is to facilitate an interactive simulation for students, as a way of training them in theworkings of the financial world. Following the establishment of the first domesticfinancial laboratory at Peking University HSBC Business School in2001, there havebeen numerous financial laboratories being built amongst higher education providers.However, as the followers did not build their financial laboratories based on theirindividual needs and requirements, there have been a number of issues pertaining tothe management of the laboratories, including the obsolete of software tools, lowutilization rate of resources, over-capacity of equipments and so on. Therefore, it hasbecome a practical and emerging quest to effectively manage a financial virtualizationlaboratory.The management of financial virtualization laboratory at Private HualianCollege was selected to be the research topic for the purpose of this dissertation. Thestructure of the dissertation is as follows:Introduction on the principle of project management-Comparison analysis of the domestic and international research status offinancial laboratories. -Overview of a project to establish a financial laboratory, the project objective,establish model and the content of project management.-Design of the financial laboratory based on the needs analysis from BusinessManagement Program and Accounting Program. The needs analysis provides a basisfor the design of modules and functionalities.-Detailed analysis of each sub-process within the project, including investmentmanagement, procurement, project delivery and operation management.-Risk management pertaining to the operational risks of the project. Thisincludes the identification of risks and their corresponding mitigation actions.
