In knowledge economy era, students should have more integrated learning ability and innovation capability. In recent years, knowledge building as a pedagogical approach has gained in popularity, and large quantity of teachers using the Knowledge Forum platform to support the learning and teaching process has emerged. In order to explore the trajectory of the knowledge progress and transition in knowledge building classroom in China, this research elaborated the progress of personal knowledge, group knowledge, community knowledge and the transition between them.This research primarily focus on participatory observation and interview, and get data from transcription video and audio data, Knowledge Forum platform and so on. This research analyzed three knowledge emerge and transition stages in detail, including the following content. The teacher and the tutor organized students published ideas on the class and Knowledge Form personally and they guaranteed the continuous development from personal ideas to personal knowledge. From this progress the paper discussed the forming process of personal knowledge. Through class reporting and notes reading in KF, students’personal knowledge was brought into public and the paper discussed the group forming and the fuse of the personal knowledge in a group. Through analyzing group works’forming and modifying process and the interaction within group, the paper analyzed the forming process of the group knowledge. By organizing the group works’reporting, the transition from group knowledge to community knowledge was analyzed. Besides the process analysis of the knowledge transition, this paper also used the tools provided by Knowledge Forum, such as read、build-on、annotation and so on, and different question and knowledge quality scales, combined with SPSS to analyze the different knowledge level and at last obtained the related conclusion. The analysis of data indicated that students can realize the knowledge transition from personal knowledge to group knowledge and from group knowledge to community knowledge in knowledge building learning environment. They can achieve the ultimate goal called community knowledge.This study constructs a continuously knowledge generative process and convert trajectory. The results can guide the teachers’teaching practices, and have an implication in the combination of knowledge building theory and other specific subjects.
