Therefore, theresearch to textbook will greatly enhance the quality of education and theeffectiveness of the curriculum reform. This paper compares the science textbooks of China edition and America edition. And the thesis consists of four parts:The first part is the problem‘s Raising. In this part, mostly discussing theresearch background, significance, and present situation. On this oundation, thearticle demonstrates its feasibility of study, namely the two sets of textbookscomparability. The second part is the theory summary. Elaborated the concept of textbook, theevaluation of textbook and the function of textbook. The third part is applying the method of comparison analysis to contrast the twosets of textbooks content design. On the basis of the first part and second part, thispart begin to analysis the content design of the two sets of textbooks in detailed.Andmainly from the below three aspects: curriculum objectives, the content of thetextbook and the presentation of the textbook. Discussed our countrythree-dimensional object of chemical course and the United States science curriculumgoal and its eight content standard category, then according to the traditionalchemical knowledge classification methods in the Chemistry Teaching the articlesummarized and compared the textbook’s content. At last, compared therepresentation of the two sets of textbooks mainly from the column, illustrations, exercises and language features. The fourth part is the research conclusions of the thesis and the research prospect.Although the chemistry textbooks of Chinese edition is a subject centered curriculum, the science textbooks of American edition is a comprehensive curriculum, the former has the properties of the interdisciplinary curriculum, while the latter alsohas the properties of the subject centered curriculum. Because of the different coursestructure, the different culture and education system between the two countries, andthe difference of individual choice, the differences between the two sets of textbooksis inevitable.
