Since1980s, developing of students’ enterprising spirit and practical abilityhave been more and more concerned by almost all of the world, so teaching modeshould be changed to adapt to the new course. Thus, the researches of inquiryteaching mode have made a great progress and it has been praised as an excellentteaching mode. Investigations of senior middle schools of Wu’an in Handanreflect that the teaching method adopted by chemical teachers are still teachercentered classroom teaching or students do the practice as the teacher teaches.Because chemical teachers are still influenced greatly by the examination-oriented teaching mode and are not acquainted with the criterion and outline ofthe present curriculum. The reason why put the inquiry teaching mode at suchan important position in The Curriculum Reform in Elementary Education isthat it could help the senior middle school teachers comprehend the inquiryteaching mode more deeply and implement it more high-efficiently.At present, teachers of many senior middle schools had put the inquiryteaching mode into use, and it had been supported by social and educational fieldresearchers. The main reformatory move of education is advocating inquirymode in new course teaching. However, in China, the using of the inquiryteaching mode started rather late. Not only theory but also practice is in such anexploratory stage. Due to the restrictions of various objective conditions, it isnecessary for the senior middle school teachers to improve the theoretical andpractical abilities of the inquiry teaching mode. Some senior middle schools of Wu’an in Handan are the typical examples toillustrate the phenomenon. In order to try to analyze this phenomenon and givethe reflection and suggestions, the author separately uses survey study,documentation method, case study and action research to investigate applicationof the inquiry teaching mode of Wu’an in Handan.This thesis contains five chapters.Chapter I: Introduction. It analyzes the background, present state, valueand meaning of this research.Chapter II: gives a general elaboration about inquiry Teaching.Chapter III: Investigation of the program overall design.Chapter IV:The results and analysis about the questionnaires. The statisticanalysis could name the reasons clearly from school management, teachers,students and some other ways.Chapter V:Conclusions and recommendations.
