Primary school is the stage of enlightenment for pupils’ learning, and the Englishability in primary schools plays a vital role on pupils’ English learning and developmentin the future. While, as grade increases gradually, and English learning’s content anddifficulty increase, it gradually appeared a number of English low achievers. How toeducate and transform the English low achievers, so as to improve their Englishachievements and English ability, is an important issue of today’s English teaching inprimary schools, and it is also the reality that every English teacher must face and study.This study excludes pupils’ innate genetic factors, such as intelligence, languagetalent and personality, analyzes the reasons of pupils’ learning with difficulties mainlyfrom acquired factors, and elaborates corresponding strategies of transformation. Thisstudy finds that English low achievers always more or less exist “lack of learninginterest”,“bad learning methods and study habits”,“incorrect education of parents” or“improper educational and teaching methods of teachers” and so on, which lead to theirbad English achievements. In order to transform English low achievers and improvetheir English achievements, on the basis of prior studies, combining with educationaland teaching practice in recent years, taking40English low achievers as the subjects ofthis study among more than360pupils of Grade3,4,5,6in Qianshan Road PrimarySchool, Ganjingzi, Dalian,this study uses literature method, questionnaire, case analysisand so on to investigate and study the causes of English low achievers at primaryschools, and propose some suggestions to reduce and transform English low achievers.Many educational experts and educators have done a lot of surveys and studies onEnglish low achievers. This study is based on the campus, dedicated to improving thelearning status of English low achievers at primary schools, so as to improve theirEnglish achievement and lay a foundation for their English learning in the future.
