Children’s problem behavior is considered as a violation of the recognized social norms and moral standards, in addition, the immature behavior in social adaptation and emotional. Problem behaviors are generally divided into internalizing problems and externalizing problems. Because of the time and condition constraints, this study only focus on children’s externalizing problems, and study it from two aspects as conduct problems and hyperactivity. In recent years, domestic and foreign scholars have done a lot of studies on problem behavior found that it affected by many factors, especially children’s temperament and parenting style. And in foreihn literature found the interaction between the two. But in China, this is still a blank. The core of this study was to investigate3year-old-children’s externalizing problems that affacted by effortful control and parenting style. This study aimed to verify the role of child’s effortful control and parenting style on3year-old-children’s externalizing problems, as well as the two issues interactions in predicting the externalizing problems. The completion of this study can enrich the theory of social development of children, it can also make the link between children’s temperament and problem behavior more clearly. In practice, this research can provide inportant theoretical support for family and kindergarten education, which is education should be individualized according to children’s temperament, only in this way, the problem behaviors can be avoided, and the children’s social development can be promoted healthily.The research methods of this study refer to situation of observation and questionnaire.303year-old-children as object were randomly selected from kindergarten in Dalian City, first they particpate the effortful control experiment, and then with their mother particpate the experiment of observation of parenting style. A questionnaire measuring children’s externalizing problems. Inviting mothers and class teachers to fill the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. Finally, on the ralation among children’s effortful control, mother parenting and children’s externalizing problems, correlation analysis, variance analysis and regression analysis were carried on.The results of this study show that:(1) children’s effortful control is significantly negatively related to the externalizing problems, that is,high effortful conful lead to low externalizing problems and low effortful control lead to high externalizing problems.(2) the negative control of parenting is significantly positively related to children’s externalizing problems, that is the more negative control in parents the more externalizing problems in the chileren, and vice versa. And further analysis shows that the negative control of parenting is also affected the two dimensions of the externalizing problems——conduct problems and hyperactivity. In the same time, the positive control of parenting is significantly negatively related to children’s hyperactivity, that the more positive control in parents the less hyperactivity in the child.(3) children’s effortful control and the positive control of mother parenting affect children’s externalizing problems in interaction-to the children with a high level of effortful control, parents overmuch interference actually increases the possibility of the development of externalizing problems.
