Using Action Research To Improve Classroom Environment In Elementary School

The classroom environment is an important factor, which always influenceseducation teaching.The reasons are various and diverse，but not single. Most ofresearchers divide the classroom environment into two categories: one is physical style,teachers change this kind of environment differently; the other is mental style, this is alsoan important thesis focus which I want to discuss in this paper. This research is mainlyabout how teachers create active classroom environment for students, and use it to affectthe study lives of students.In this paper, the author made an action research in a primary school of the C city.The author tried to take the action research methods to solve the classroom environmentproblems. Firstly, classroom environment questionnaire and class observation were usedto assess the classroom environment in this class; secondly, we analyzed the gap betweenthe perception and expectation of students; and then, researchers and primary teachersdiscussed the plans to change the classroom environment; fourthly, implemented theplans; lastly, re-assess the students’ perception of classroom environment.The researcher found some problems about the classroom environment in theprimary school. First of all, the classroom management is stereotyped, so the studentslack the subjectivity in the class. Next, students are shot of motivation of learning andinitiative which make the social environment of classroom stiffly. Thirdly, students arelacking in the association ability. In the process of the action research, we conclude thesefollowing conclusions:1. Good study habits are benefit to improve the classroom order.2.Cheerful classroom atmosphere influence students’ participation.3. Organize rich themeactivities can build good relationship between teachers and students.4. There are certainrelations between teacher’s teaching style and the classroom environment.5.we find thatthe active research is conductive to solving the practical problems of teaching jobs. Weaim at the problems of the research to put forward these countermeasures：first andforemost，Teachers should improve the old classroom management mode and change thesingle classroom management method. Secondly, teachers should pay attentions todevelop students’ study habits. Thirdly, teachers should encourage the students toparticipate in the class activity, in this way, teachers can promote the relations betweenteachers and students, also can encourage students help each other.
