The21st century is the time of knowledge economy. Along with faster pace of the global economy and technological development, the work tasks and innovation activities technical personnel should take are more complex and heavier. They perceived more and more work stress. University academic researchers are the typical representative of technical personnel group, so that they are also one of the most stressed groups. The increasing work stress will make negative influences on one’s physiological, psychological and behavioral aspects. As an important indicator of individual’s physical and mental health and working state, occupational well being received attentions in the work stress study gradually.Therefore, this paper is going to study the relationship between University academic researcher’s, work stress and well being based on the dynamic process model of stress.In addition, taking the consideration of the importance of appraisal stage in the stress process and the close correlation between self-efficacy and work stress and well being, studying also put them into the model. Finally, a new model which takes work stressors as independent variable, the occupational well being as dependent variable, perceived stress as mediator variable, self-efficacy as moderator variable is built. After the theoretical analysis, we begin do verification about the model and hypothesis through the data. Several conclusions are made as following:(1) The university academic researcher’s perceived work stress mediates the relationship between work support dimension, social relationship dimension and affective well being, psychological well being. (2) The university academic researcher’s work support dimension has a direct impact on the professional and social well being, while role stress dimension has a direct impact on professional well being.(3) The university academic researcher’s self-efficacy only moderate the relationship between social relationship and perceived work stress, work support and social well being.(4) There are significant differences on work stressors, perceived stress, self-efficacy and occupational well being with different personal characteristics, such as gender, age, etc.
