After30years’ development, higher vocational education has increasingly becomea decisive and basic part of higher education in China. The supernormal development ofhigher vocational education has higher demands on the theoretical level, professionalskills and practical experience of college teachers. As teachers are the most valuableresources of colleges, the systematic construction and scientific management of teachersare particularly important for the promotion of higher vocational colleges. Building ateacher job competency model and exploring the application of the model, can helpimprove the teachers management to be scientific and normative, in order to give fullplay to the initiative of the teachers, achieving the consistency with the college strategy.Combining with the nature and characteristics of vocational colleges in China, thispaper draws on the more mature theory of the corporate competency model, and selectsZS which is a famous vocational college in Guangdong as the research object. Withanglicizing the current situation in ZS, this paper mainly adopts Delphi Method,Behavioral Event Interview and Questionnaire, through statistics of original figures toanalyze the competency of ZS. For the results, this paper finally classifies the corecompetency to the teachers, and establishes the competency model to explore theapplication of teacher job competency model, thus provides a theoretical basis for thefurther use of ZS teacher job competency model.
