In recent years, India plays a more and more important role on the internationalstage, and the pace of it’s economic growth is conspicuous. A major factor of therapid development of economy and the promote of international status of India is thegood education and training of high quality India technical talents. The goodeducation and training of high quality India technical talents not only brings India’seconomic and social development,but also provides many excellent labour and staffsall over the world. These technology talents of high quality depends on Indiangovernment’s unremitting efforts on long-term quality improvement in highertechnology education. This paper introduces the higher technical education qualityimprovement goals and methods, and explains detailed steps of the improvementprocess taken in various measures and implementation plan,based on theimplementation of "Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme" of Indiasince2002. It also gives an analysis of the results, successful experiences and thecharacteristics of "Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme", and sumsup the reference to improve the quality of our country’s the higher vocational andtechnical education. The paper consists of five parts. The first part is the introductionwhich emphasis on the origin and current situation of Indian higher technicaleducation,and attempts to illustrate the significance and innovation of the research inthis paper, and the ideas of the research methods.This part also lists the research ofour country of foreign countries on this topic. The second part introduced Indianhigher technical education, including its background, present situation anddevelopment goals and connotation. The third part emphasis on the strategy and range,management and quality assurance system, monitoring and evaluation of the qualityimprovement plan. It also describes two aspects of "Technical Education QualityImprovement Programme",that is,the higher technical institutions education qualityimprovement,and internal management of higher technical education system. The forth part summarizes the results and experiences, main features and trend of"Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme". The last part summarizesthe inspiration of "Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme"to China.
