Cooperative learning, which was raised up in the70s of the20th century and made great progress in70s to80s, is a kind of teaching theory and strategy. Cooperative learning which is on the basic of several different theories and is in the vanguard of the goal design, taking the group activity as the basic teaching form, the group results as the evaluation criterion, aims to improve most of the students’ academic performance and the social psychology atmosphere in class, forming students’ good psychological quality and social skills. In the21century, it is an important task for school education to cultivate of the students’ cooperation awareness and innovation ability. Taking the method of the students’ team learning can not only make students learn how to cooperate with others but also cultivate the students’ exploration and innovation. Therefore, during the implementation of cooperative learning student team, it has the extremely vital significance to cultivate high quality talents, promote comprehensive quality education and make the students get full development in the21st century.Student Team Cooperative Learning is mutual learning activities which take the students as the center and the student team group activities as the basic form. It makes the students study together in a heterogeneous group, basing on the certain cooperative procedures and methods, so that it can promote students to perform learning better and to achieve team learning goals. It is helpful for students to learn how to study, cultivate students’ creative thinking and experience their own value. It is based on the constructivism learning theory and high performance team construction theory.In practice, the middle school English teaching in China team cooperative learning has some main problems:group dividing is not reasonable, students participating in not equilibrium; cooperative learning goals are not clear, the cooperative process has no guidance; Evaluation is not scientific, teachers and students do not perform actively. The problems based on the following reasons. First, students have the poor understanding and lack the positive attitude to the cooperating learning. Second, the school mechanism and system have the negative influences on the cooperative learning at present.According to the problems and reasons, the write gives four effective strategies. Firstly, establish the effective team organization for the high school students’cooperative learning. Secondly, build the better cooperative learning evaluating system. Thirdly, strengthen students’community construction and promote the knowledge sharing among the student and the rest members of the team. Fourthly, change the roles of teachers in the team cooperation study.
