As China’s deepening reform of basic education, basic education cooperative learning has also been widespread concern, emphasizing the students ability to communicate cooperation has become an important goal of basic education reform, how to promote cooperative learning among students, enhance teaching effectiveness has become a hot topic of academic research.This study is based on this background, the application of cooperative learning in English teaching in primary schools were studied. During this study, the first theory and theoretical basis for cooperative learning were studied, and relevant research results are summarized, laid the theoretical foundation for this study. On the basis of theoretical research on the paper uses empirical research on pupils fifth graders were experimental groups, experimental findings suggest that cooperative learning groups of primary school English teaching and learning English in primary schools are of great help. The enthusiasm of the children in the experimental group higher in the classroom, the courage to express themselves in English actively, speaking also been greatly improved. A good learning atmosphere among the children, the children learned to listen to others and express themselves reasonable, and so learned to help each other study habits.Through this study, not only for primary school English teaching provides a scientific teaching methods, but also for teachers attach importance to the role of cooperative learning groups, the positive application of group cooperative learning methods to improve the quality of primary school English teaching is provided as reference.
