With the development of our society, most aspects of human’s lives are influenced deeply by feminism thought. When women realized that the human and the past ideas of the world were separated for the premise and analysis under the separation of subject and object, they began to query, reflect, and criticize the established rules. The feminist art as the outcome of feminism and women awakening, it is no longer a fresh topic today; nevertheless, the dancing theories of regarding feminism as a research perspective to inspect the dance art is rare in our country. Dance belongs to art; it is the unique cultural phenomenon of human being, and which is related closely to the development of human society. Of particular note, although the relationship between the dance of all times and in all countries and women were close, but before twentieth century, women dance performers were regarded as puppets, the dancing art was not a way to express self emotion and communicate with others. Until the emergence of the feminism trend and modern dance, it attached modern female dancers expressing space.This paper analyzes and discusses the relationship between feminism and feminist dancing depending on three theses; the first one is feminism and dance, the second one is observing primary characteristics depending on feminism dancing, and last one is the cultural interpretation of feminism dancing. It defines the concepts of feminism dancing, which according to detailed analysis the typical female modern dancers and their works, such as Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham, Pina Bausch, and so on, then it shows three characteristics of feminism dancing, they are including with independent spirit as a starting point; with freedom to express the heart feeling; with the self-liberation as the goal. In the end, the paper discusses the semiotics significance, unscrambles the representation and common sense of choreographing feminism dancing, and summarized the cultural connotation and value orientation of feminism dancing.
