With the development of the children’s welfare in our country, orphans and disabled children’s education is increasingly becoming the focus of social concern. In2010, the total number of orphans in our country has exceeded71million. At present.the styles of parenting orphans and disabled children have gradually developed into residential care, combined with foster care model. As one of the national secondary social welfare institutions, Nanjing children’s welfare home is the forefront of scientific parenting, medical rehabilitation, special education, skills training, foreign exchange and as well,the creator of the first school for parents in foster care, which guarantees dramatically foster children’s educational level. Therefore, in the period of policy transition, the study of the dilemma in education faced by family foster children in Nanjing is undoubtedly representative and typical.Different to researches focused on physiological and psychological effects of the family foster care to foster children’s, this study, with the analysis of social-ecological systems theory framework exploring the status of learning interest of children in foster care, detailed analysis of those who affect these children’s learning interest, personal factors, family factors, environmental factors, and through the group work intervention, try to clarify the general ways to cultivate family foster children’s interest in learning. In this study, literature research serves as the way to find shortcomings of researches in the area and focus of group work interventions; the first-hand information is available with behavioral observation and in-depth interviews; on the base of confirmed theoretical framework and adequate data collection, group work is used for intervention with family foster children’s learning interest.Results of this study include the following two aspects:group evaluation and strategies to improve the family foster children’s learning interest. With analysis and contrast of data and material, the researcher find that atmosphere of the group was relaxed, the team members trusted and as well, communicated with each other,and this goal of cultivating interest in learning reached. On this basis, the researcher puts forward to focus on family foster children’s adjustment in school, and to strengthen the communication between welfare homes and foster parents.
