Teaching of Chinese characters has been the focus of the study of foreign language teaching contents, although in recent years,it has made great achievements, but how to strengthen the teaching of Chinese characters targeted to improve second language learners’Chinese characters learning effect is still need to further explore. Especially in recent years, more and more non-Chinese cultural circle young students came to China for learning Chinese, but the research for this group is not enough.On the forms of teaching Chinese characters,although the discussion of the teaching Chinese characters and comprehensive course has been for a long time, there are still most of the schools take the traditional teaching way but not the new way.In this paper, we take the non-Chinese cultural circle Youth Students’Chinese teaching as a starting point, first reviewed and summarized the research achievements and shortcomings of teaching Chinese as a second language. After that we talk about learning Chinese characters based on the characteristics of the proposal and put forward formal aspects of teaching:we take a new Chinese characters teaching way to complete the comprehensive course.Finally test and summary the new teaching way.Chapter one of this article discusses the main results of teaching Chinese as a second language home and abroad. It also introduces the process of Chinese characters’teaching, some disputes in the academia and summaries compilation of teaching materials and the development of teaching Chinese as a second language.In my study I put forward some problems and the methods to solve them. For example, teaching Chinese as a second language not only focuses on teaching methods and contents, but also to strengthen the attention and study of the overall characteristics of the teaching objects.Chapter two of this article on the base of well-known the study objects to put forward some views. To the background of one Middle School international department in Shanghai. I do some contradistinction between Chinese youngers and the non-Chinese cultural youngers and put forward some precautions in teaching Chinese as a second language for Chinese as a second language teacher.Chapter three mainly surveys one of the Shanghai High School International Division students and interviews Chinese teachers.Expected to find the difficult parts of the foreign students in Chinese characters before they learn Chinese characters and investigate the Chinese teachers for what kind of the problem they often meet in their teaching experiences.Preparing for the below new teaching methods.Chapter four of this thesis analyzes the teaching contents of Chinese character towards the Chinese beginners young students from non-Chinese cultural circle.From the theory of teaching method,the second language teaching theory based on the nature of curriculum, teaching objectives,teaching principles,content and methods of teaching and assessment methods.Systematic introduced the entire teaching process.Chapter five takes the practical teaching for the Chinese character course at elementary class for foreign students from non-Chinese character cultural circle in one of the shanghai middle school as an example,and test the result of the new teaching method,analyzes the teaching effective.Based on the whole test and interview, we find the new way is a very effect way of teaching Chinese characters.
