Basketball was introduced into China since1985, developing very fast inChina. After few decades, today, our basketball level has been one of the world’sleading level. Basketball was first promoted when earliest entering Chinas’ collegesand universities. College students have a great contribution on the development ofbasketball in China. And basketball as well as has a great help in all kinds ofpromotion with the quality of the college students.Basketball has many precious value, from various aspects has a positiveinfluence on us. College class inside and outside of basketball development has agreat point on the comprehensive quality developing for the contemporary collegestudents. For college students, it is not only a participation of basketball,it has hugepotential value. We are not only learning the knowledge of basketball from thebasketball sports,but more of a social need of precious qualities: tenacity,perseverance, solidarity, collaboration, communication; and all these qualities arehard to get from traditional education. Therefore, colleges and universities place thebasketball course in important position of the sports courses. They set up basketball course as a college traditional activity, in order to improve themselves quality and fitfor the requests of education for all-round development. In this paper, the jinanordinary university made a detailed investigation about the basketballcurriculum and extracurricular activities, aimed at a comprehensive understandingabout the present situation of Jinan basketball activities in colleges and finding areasonable basis for college basketball course and the development of theextracurricular basketball activities in Jinan, put forward valuable Suggestions.This paper uses the literature material law, questionnairesurvey method, survey method, taking eight normal universities in Jinan as theresearch object, to research and analysis the following conclusions:1．Various universities in Jinan will set up basketball course as key curriculum.But in the girls’ basketball ability and class division has many shortcomings.2. Jinan Various universities in basketball course evaluation is toosimple, is bad for the improvement of students’ ability.3.The enthusiasm of students to participate in the extracurricular basketballactivity is higher, but the site factors is one of the important factors which arerestricting the students to participate in it.4. The basketball curriculum and extracurricular activities are to promote each other, the school should organize more various specifications of the basketball match,to improve the students’ level of basketball.
