The rapid development of modern educational technology, promote the shift of the conceptof education and teaching mode update and the deepening of computer for the secondary meansof teaching in universities teaching raise new challenges and requirements to the traditionalteaching. The Experimental Teaching is an important part of the cultivation of students’innovative ability and practical ability, to play the maximum potential of modern educationaltechnology in teaching will certainly bring experimental teaching to obtain higher efficiencyand achieve better results.The paper selected seed traits detection of biological experiment teaching for study, for thereason is that biology disciplines is based on experiments and the experiment teaching as animportant part of the teaching of biology. According to the investigation, informationtechnologies used in biological experiments are rare in the domestic. Therefore, how to usemodern educational technology to enhance biological experiment teaching quality worthy ofsome research the moment. In biological experiments, seed quality testing is one of the basicskills which students must grasp, Traditionally, the detection of seed appearance parameters isto be completed by the naked eye, this method is not only time-consuming and labor-intensive,but also has a strong personal subjectivity, the detection of the primary internal components ofthe seed is achieved by chemical means which with a certain degree of destructive. In thispaper,for issues that arise from traditional seed quality testing we design and development ofseed traits detection system based on MATLAB GUI. The system mainly obtain seed externalparameters corresponding digital image processing algorithms, such as seed length, width,perimeter, area and obtain the bud length of germinated wheat, so as to detect the wheat qualityand divide the level of harvest sprouting.Finally, according to the characteristics of the system, use the modern teaching designconcept, designed teaching cases and applied to teaching, according to the comparison of experimental results and the feedback survey of students, can organic the biologicalexperiments and computer-aided teaching,The overall framework of the thesis is as follows:The first part is the introduction, from the theoretical analyze of the feasibility of theresearch, then, from the whole to introduces the thesis research ideas and research methods.The second part is an overview of the relevant theory, mainly introduced the theories ofconstructivism and instructional design theory which was reference to the papers in the courseof the study and analysis of these two theories for the significance of this study.The third part is related with the seed traits detection system developed. In this part wemainly introduced the purpose and significance of the system design and development, thenfrom the point of systems analysis, design, development and testing introduced the systemdevelopment process.The fourth part is the combination instance of the seed traits detection system specific caseteaching combination. In this section the author mainly from the point of view of theinstructional design demonstrates the possibility of combining the system and teaching, andmake specific attempt. From the learners survey analysis we found that the system has played acertain role in the biological experiment teaching.The last part is mainly the subject of the summary, identify the problems andshortcomings,in order to be better in the subsequent study.
