STEAM is a general term for Science,Technology,Engineering,Art or Humanities,and Mathematics.It is an interdisciplinary teaching and learning method,which means integration and innovation At present,the concept of STEAM education has risen to the national strategic level,and many countries are actively exploring ways and means to effectively carry out STEAM education.The literature analysis shows that compared with the systematization of STEAM research abroad.There are obvious deficiencies in the research on STEAM education in my country,and the research on the combination of STEAM education and high school biology is rare.This research carried out biological experiment teaching activities that integrate STEAM education,and showed that it affects students' interest and contributes to the improvement of various comprehensive abilities such as practical operation,problem analysis,and expression communication.Based on the investigation of the current situation of high school biology experiments in Huaibei City,this study integrated the STEAM concept into the high school biology experiment teaching.Designed and implemented an extracurricular extension experiment teaching activity based on the Biology textbooks published by the High School People's Education Press(hereinafter referred to as the People's Education Edition)under the guidance of "General High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017)" —— "Extraction and Application of Plant Effective Ingredients","Making DNA Double Helix Structure Model" and "Making Ecological Bottles",And test the effect of experimental teaching by methods mainly based on academic performance and comprehensive ability test results,supplemented by classroom observations.The results of the study show that the experimental courses that integrate STEAM education and biology are more likely to stimulate students' interest in learning;STEAM education can help students improve their academic performance and at the same time help students develop comprehensive abilities.This research meets the requirements of national talent training,meets the needs of school education,and at the same time meets the actual situation of the school.It is of great significance to promote the reform of high school biology teaching.
