China is the most populous developing country in the world. Large population size and low quality, relative lack of per capita resources, relative lack of resources and environment carrying capacity,increasing risk of population structure,uneven distribution of population and accelerated population flow, are the basic national conditions of China’s population at this stage. The population problem is a significant practical and strategic issues facing the building of socialism with Chinese characteristics. With the deepening of China’s economic and social development and a wide range of population and family planning, since the1980s the family planning policy, China’s population situation, population issues occur significant changes. From the longer period, the low fertility rate, sex ratio imbalance, aging of the population and the population security have gradually become an important factor affecting the economic and social comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development.Starting from the introduction of the current population policy Evolution, this article is trying to reveal the causes and consequences of the current population policy, the ins and outs of the process of policy formulation and the starting point from a historical perspective restore. On this basis, through the method of documentary research, comparative study and interview, this article is analyzing the impact of the current population policy. Taking into account the existing problems from the overall perspective and the point of view of long-term development, the author make use of optimum population theory and population optimization theory to put forward the suggestion of adjusting the current population policy. The author hope to provide a scientific basis and reference for the timely adjustment of the current population policy.
