Improving students’ ability of classical poetry appreciation is one of the main task forsenior high school.it is also the hot spot in the college entrance examination in recentyears. How to improve the ability of classical poetry appreciation has been a tirelessresearch topic for front-line teachers and Chinese language researchers. This paper try touse Langer`s symbolism aesthetics theory in classical poetry appreciation to re-examinethe classical poetry teaching and analyze the erroneous zone existing in the classical poetryteaching, and put forward the problem that should be pay attention to when we useLanger`s symbolism aesthetics theory in classical poetry appreciation. This paper includesin three aspects: first of all, discusses the basic theory of symbolism aesthetic and itsrelationship with the classical poetry teaching;Second,in the horizon of symbolismaesthetic, checks up today’s classical poetry in senior high school,puts Langer`s symbolismaesthetics ideas concrete application to teaching practice, namely the "emotion" theoreticalenlightenments to the teaching of poems,"form of life" theory enlightenment to teachingof classical poetry,"artistic intuition" and "illusion of life" theory enlightenment toteaching of classical poetry;Finally,combining with the concrete teaching practice,putsforward pairs of relations should be well treated in the teaching of classical poetry, namely:emotion and knowledge;diversity and boundedness; the intuition cultivation and rationalthought and so on. Hope to practically guide the classical poetry teaching in senior highschool.
