| In recent years, the situation of Chinese aging population is increasingly serious; theelderly population is large in scale and growing fast while social development can notcatch up with the aging process. Pension issues has been a difficult problem which we haveto face with now. Due to the influence of Chinese traditional culture and short ofaged-nursing resource, most elder prefer to aged-care at home. Considering the localsituation, Suzhou combined modern electronic information technology with aged-care athome to develop a pattern of family endowment service and set up a new institution,named virtual nursing-home. Virtual nursing-home has made great social achievementswhile it can not meet the elders’ needs of social-contacting, activity-taking and learning.This article, based on social work professional concept and method, uses group workand community work to find out the key to the dilemma of virtual nuring-home. After that,this article evaluates the effects of social work intervention and emphasizes that socialwork will enhance the level of pension service. |
