This research is a case study on the plight of a street child getting back to society. How to successfully fit in street children with city life is a major concern of scholars in all fields. However such an issue has not been addressed enough in the field of social work intervention, especially in terms of micro-intervention. This article is a case study based on how the author tried to bring a street child back into society and the difficulties the author experienced in the process during the internship in a community in Luohu District, Shenzhen. During the research process the author applied the common service model under Social Work Strength Perspective. This research is divided into the following parts. The author recorded first how the client was discovered and then the whole process of taking the case, doing pre-assessment, planning, intervention, after-assessment and closing the case. Through the detailed analysis of each link of the process the attributes and effectiveness of social work service process is presented. In the fifth part, the author concluded what’s worth sharing and what needed to be done better in the above processes, and further reflected on how to more effectively bring street children back into normal social life.
