Gratitude, which has started to take center stage by the end of20th century, is a new research field of positive psychology. Right now, theoretical research in this field is becoming more and more mature, and research in practice field are also gradually becoming more complete. More and more researchers in gratitude begin to focus on teenagers, and a lot of studies have shown that gratitude has positive effect on promoting adolescent’s pro-social behavior, self-esteem, competence and well-being. Therefore, improving the students’ level of gratitude can not only develop the mental health, promote the development of pro-social behavior, but also improve the whole at school. Vocational high school students are very special, because they are facing more and more social pressure and psychological pressure. Chinese scholar Zheng Xiaohu (2007) concluded that vocational high school students’ mental health was significantly lower than the ordinary high school students’. It’s mainly displayed by behavioral maladjustment, more aggressive behavior and aggressive speech activities. That is to say, they are more hostile, provocative, apathetic, withdrawal, have low self-esteem and shows other negative personality characteristics. Due to the positive effect of gratitude in youth development.This study suggests that it is very necessary to promote the occupation school students’ prosocial behavior and psychological health level by raising the level of gratitude.On the basis of the existing research at home and abroad. First, the researcher do questionnaire survey on1903vocational high school students in one District city of Chengdu to examine the status of student’ gratitude. Then according to the group counseling theory, combine with gratitude concept and connotation, and make a group counseling program to promote vocational school students’ gratitude. At last, In order to test the practical effect of the intervention program, we chooses three group to do the experiment with combination of demographic statistics.The main results show that:(1) Most of vocational high school students of Chengdu have high levels of gratitude, but some students still have low levels of gratitude. Grades and source differences of students’ gratitude is not significant, but gender differences is significant. It is showed that the score of girls in total and the four dimensions as grateful to Parents, grateful to help, rich sense of life, grateful to life were higher than the boys.(2) The combination of the group counseling and counting blessing and only use counting blessing both can significantly improve the level of gratitude. But the former Intervention has more remarkable effect to improve the level of gratitude.
