In recent years,as the ideological trend of positive psychology rises and develops,gratitude,as one of the positive personality traits of human,attracts more and more attention in the psychological circle.A number of researches at home and abroad show that gratitude plays a positive role in promoting the prosocial behavior,subjective well-being,self-esteem and mental health.From the angle of positive psychology,with vocational school students in vocational education to which the nation and society attach more and more importance as the objects,this research intends to learn the gratitude and mental health of vocational school students,discuss the relationship between gratitude of vocational school students and mental health,explore the intervention plan for cultivating the gratitude trait of vocational school students and verify the effect of the intervention plan.This research uses the group sampling method and selects 400 vocational school students from two vocational schools in Xiangtan.It uses adolescent gratitude scale(AGS)and mental health self-assessment scale(SCL-90)to conduct a questionnaire survey for gratitude and mental health of vocational school students and discusses the relationship between gratitude of vocational schools students and their mental health;then develops a gratitude group counseling plan according to theories of positive psychology and gratitude three-dimensional structure,selects 32 students with low gratitude as the subjects and conducts an intervention experiment of gratitude group counseling to test the practice effect of the intervention plan.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)The gratitude scores of most vocational school students are high,but the gratitude levels of some students are still lower.No remarkable difference exists in the gratitude of vocational school students in the aspects,including gender,grade,birthplace and only child,but remarkable differences exist in the aspects,including different marital status of parents,different educational degrees of fathers and different educational degrees of mothers.(2)The mental health of vocational school students is generally good,but the total SCL-90 scores and some factor scores of a few students tend to be high.(3)Remarkable negative correlation exists between the total gratitude score and six factors of vocational school students and the total SCL-90 score and somatization,sensitive interpersonal relationship,depression,anxiety,hostility,intolerance and obsessive-compulsive symptom.This indicates that remarkable positive correlation exists between gratitude and mental health,which indicates the positive correlation between the gratitude and mental health(4)After the intervention of gratitude group counseling,we found the significant difference between the total gratitude score and six factors of vocational school students and the total SCL-90 score and the pretest,there are significant differences among the total mental health and somatization,sensitive interpersonal relationship,depression,anxiety,hostility,intolerance and obsessive-compulsive symptom and pre-test comparison.There is no significant difference between the control group and the post-test,after the difference comparison of the post-test?tracking test of the experimental group' gratitude and mental health,we found that there is no significant difference between the total gratitude score and six factors and the total mental health score and ten factors.Conclusion(1)There exists positive correlation between the gratitude and mental health of vocational school students.(2)The intervention of gratitude group counseling effectively improves the gratitude and mental health of vocational school students.(3)Developing a gratitude intervention plan is an effective way for improving the gratitude and mental health of vocational school students.The plan provides not only real-time counseling effect but also continuous counseling effect.
