The21st century society has entered a new era, i.e. the era ofknowledge economy. The era of knowledge economy requires talent inpromoting economic construction and social development of talent. Thepopular talent is divided into two kinds, including knowledge-based andthe ability type. Not only the knowledge but also the ability are needed tomake own contribution to this era. This puts higher invisible pressure on oureducators and our front-line teachers. China’s teaching has applied thetraditional form of teaching, which emphasized teacher-centered withstudents as a passive recipient of knowledge. This kind of teaching ignoredthe subjectivity of students and the student’s ability, which is unable tomeet the talent needs of today’s society. In order to conform the needs of thetimes, our country start up new curriculum reform. The new curriculumreform emphasizes the development of students’ subjectivity, cooperationand creativity. As an effective means to cultivate students’ abilities,inquiry-based teaching pointed out the direction for educators.Based on the inquiry teaching theory, inquiry-based teaching methodswas applied in the chemistry classroom teaching to enhance students’interest in learning, change the way students learn, elevate capacity ofstudents in all aspects and improve the quality of teaching. The inquiryteaching practice was in Secondary School, Inner Mongolia Zhalaiteqi Inder high grade semester since august of2012,In the experimental classesthe inquiry classroom teaching was used and traditional teaching methodswere used in the control classes. Inquiry classroom teaching processes in theexperimental classes are as follows:①creation of scenarios to stimulatestudents’ interest;②rendering issues, guidance and exploration;③Showcase feedback evaluation;④after school extending, expanding,exploring. After more than two months teaching experimental in the contrastexperimental classes and control classes students, based on the comparisonstatistical analysis of test scores before and after experiment, the ultimatelyconclusions that the inquiry classroom teaching could further improve theability of students with better chemical basis could be obtained.
