The implementation of new curriculum reform puts forward higher requirements to theteaching of politics in Senior High Schools. New curriculum reform proposes students’autonomous learning and inquiry, which fully embodies the main position of students inclassroom teaching, and requires the teachers to reform their teaching methods. As a newteaching method, the case teaching has very strong property of times and practice, and meetsthe need of the new curriculum reform in senior high schools. Therefore it is of greatsignificance to study the teaching of political course in the useful promotion and completionof the study on the case teaching.This paper mainly adopts the methods of literature research, observation research andexperience summary, based on the relevant literature on the case teaching method, it madeexplanation in four parts respectively for the case teaching method combining with his ownobservation and teaching practice.In the first part, it discusses the connotation and basic characteristics of the case teachingmethod, tracing back the historical origin and development of case teaching method, andanalyzes the significance of applying the case teaching method in political course in SeniorHigh Schools.In the second part, it analyzes the feasibility of the case teaching method of politicalcourse in Senior High Schools, and discusses it from the following four aspects. Firstly, tomeet the new curriculum development trend; secondly, to correspond to new teachingmaterials and teaching objectives. Thirdly, to compare study of case teaching method and thetraditional didactic teaching method. Fourthly, to further analyze the questions about usagesof the case teaching method in Senior High Schools.In the third part, it mainly analyzes the present situation and problems of using the caseteaching method of political course in Senior High Schools. Firstly, it analyzes the presentsituation of case teaching method of political course in Senior High Schools according to theactual situation of Shouguang No.1Middle School, firstly, there are a lot of differencesamong teachers in the use of case teaching method; secondly, different grades have differentsituation in applying case teaching method; thirdly, there are different in attention from artsstudents and science students. And then it further analyzes the problems of current situation of using case teaching method in Senior High Schools.The fourth part is the key point of this paper. According to the current situation andexisting problems of case teaching method of political course in Senior High Schools, it putsforward some corresponding countermeasures from school, teachers and students, of whichthe key is teacher’s work, and then explains it from three aspects: firstly, the teachers shouldstrengthen learning to improve their own quality; secondly, they should collect innovative andnew cases to rich sense of the times through multi-channels; thirdly, they should do well in thework of organization and implementation of case teaching.With further promotion of education reform, more and more teachers will use caseteaching method in political course in Senior High Schools, and the case teaching method willbe paid more and more attention among educators.
